With only two weeks to go until we start our Christmas shop, we were thinking about how we can start a campaign that teases in the run-up to the event.
Following our discussion of the idea, we decided to create a campaign that involves using donated Christmas items placed in static yet humorous positions to deliver cheesy Christmas jokes.
Therefore, we began by placing donated Christmas decorations (two robins wearing Christmas scarves and hats) under bright lighting on a pristine white A3 page. This enabled easy removal of the background, allowing the robins to be inserted into various traditional Christmas settings.
After capturing the images with our camera, we used advanced photo editing software to remove the backgrounds from each picture. This meticulous process allowed us to create a clean and professional look for the final composition.
Before and after the backgrounds were cut-out.
Once the backgrounds were eliminated, we carefully placed the images on two distinct scenes.
The first scene features a Gingham tablecloth on a late summer/autumnal evening, and the second shows a snowy background with deciduous Christmas trees.
We included the 'Call to Action' text, indicating the start of our Christmas shop at GO. We also superimposed speech marks for the robins to talk to each other and added some cheesy Christmas jokes to grab attention.
We hope you enjoy the Christmas teasers, which will be coming out over the weeks beginning 21st October.
